I Hate To Be A Long-Distance Grandmother!

I hate to be a long-distance Grandmother! When my daughter, Holly, told me i was going to be a grandmother, I was estatic! I had thought it would never happen and I was so happy. The only bad part of being a grandmother was the fact that I lived in PA and my daughter lived in WI. I could not be there for Kaitlynn's birth because of my job. I work in a hospital as a nurse and could not get the time off. Thank goodness for the internet. I got lots of videos and pictures. I saw Kaitlynn for the first time in July, when my daughter and Kaitlynn flew to PA to spend some time with us. Kaitlynn was 3 1/2 months old. She loves to fly and cries when the plane stops.

When Kaitlynn was 9 months old, she loved to go shopping for new clothes with her mom. She loves all her Carter PJ's her Mom buys for her. Her Mommy says that they they last a long time and go through lots of washings She loves all the beautiful dresses and 2 pc. outfits her Mom buys for her.She really looks cool and love to show off her wardrobe to all her friends at daycare. As you can see, she loves to pose for pictures to show her Grammas and Grampas how much she has grown and shows off her pretty dresses.

Easter is a fun time to shop for your baby's first Easter outfit. Kaitlynn found a beautiful pink dress with pearls and a rose on the front. She looked so pretty in her new dress with a pink bow in her hair. What a wonderful time to take dozens of pictures of your baby.

Kaitlynn says, "Well it is my first Halloween. I don't think I know what that means but I am sure I will find out real soon. My Halloween costume is a fairy princess. I have a magic wand and I have a pumpkin pail. My Mom told me she would have to say "Trick or Treat" because as you see I can't talk yet and people would say how cute I was and fill my pumpkin full of candy and goodies. It was a great night. Maybe next year I can go halloweening as Little Red Riding Hood and I will be able to say "Trick or Treat" myself."

Kaitlynn says, "Well look at me. I AM Little Red Riding Hood and this is my second year to go Halloweening with my Mom. I can't say, "Trick or Treat!" yet, but I sure can smile and get my bucket full of Halloween goodies. I just love dressing up! This Halloween thing sure is fun. Can't wait until next year!"

Well, it's Kaitlynn's 2nd Christmas and her Mom and Grandma took her to the mall to get her picture taken with Santa Claus. Her mom bought her a beautiful red and black dress to go with her little tights and black patent leather shoes. She looked so beautiful! We got in line and waited to get Kaitlynn's picture taken. All the time Kaitlynn was eye-balling Santa Claus. We were wondering what was going on in this little 1 1/2 year old child's mind. Her Mom walked her over and sat her down on Santa's lap. She puckered up and we thought, "Oh no! She is going to cry!" but she didn't. No matter what the photographer did he could not make her smile. She did take a nice picture anyway. While we were picking out the poses we wanted, Santa Claus was trying to make friends with Kaitlynn by reading a Christmas book and showing her the pictures. She sat there very quietly with the strangest look on her face. Kaitlynn will appreciate Santa Claus more next year. Merry Christmas,Kaitlynn!

Well Gramma hopped a jet plane, for the first time, and went to WI for the first 10 days of December. It was a very enjoyable trip and spending the time with Kaitlynn and Holly was priceless. We all had a wonderful Christmas. I am looking forward to Kaitlynn and Holly visiting me in PA in July. Two times a year is not a lot of time to spend with your grandchildren, but building precious memories will last a lifetime.
